How a group booking works
Every NYC Royal Carriage booking is one private carriage — never shared with another party — so a group is simply several private carriages travelling together. A single reservation can hold up to 10 carriages. The online form at /book offers up to 5 for a regular tour; beyond that, use the form below or call us at (646) 656-9717.
Everything in one reservation shares a single date, a single departure time and a single route. The group leaves the stand together and rides through Central Park as a procession rather than trickling out in ones and twos, and each carriage has its own driver.
Each carriage seats up to 4 adults. With children (12 and under) the combinations are:
- 4 adults per carriage
- 3 adults & up to 2 children per carriage
- 2 adults & up to 4 children per carriage
- 1 adult & up to 6 children per carriage
So 5 carriages carry up to 20 adults and 10 carry up to 40 — more heads still when part of the party is children.
Pricing is per carriage, not per person: the total is the tour price multiplied by the number of carriages, so four carriages on the 45-minute Signature Tour are 4 × $164.99. Tours start at $104.99 for the 25-minute Mini Tour and run to $414.99 for the 125-minute Grand tours — the full list is on the Tours & Prices page. Add-ons work differently: they are added once per booking rather than once per carriage, so if you want a bottle or a bouquet in every carriage, say so in the form and we will price it for you.
Regular tours run January 10 through November 20. From November 21 to January 9 the regular line-up pauses and our Christmas tours run in its place, with the number of carriages free at any one departure depending on live availability for that slot — one more reason to arrange a December group with us directly. Any booking, of any size, has to be made at least 30 minutes before departure; we do not take walk-up bookings at the carriage stand.
Proposals with a fleet
Our 65-minute Proposal Tour ($224.99 per carriage) includes a brief pause at the spot you choose — Bethesda Terrace Arcade, Wagner Cove, Bow Bridge — and the rest of the party can follow in additional carriages on the same departure. If the carriage needs to wait beyond the standard tour duration, for example while photography or a celebration continues, an Extended Waiting Time arrangement is available for $100 per additional hour, payable to your driver or arranged in advance with our team.

Where we meet you, and how to reach the office
Every tour departs from 7th Avenue and Central Park South (59th Street) — 180 Central Park South, New York, NY 10019. For a larger party it is worth telling everyone to meet at the corner 10 minutes early, the same as any departure, so the whole group boards together.

Cancellations and rescheduling
Group bookings follow the same terms as any other reservation:
- Cancellations made 24+ hours before the tour: full refund (excluding transaction fees)
- Cancellations made 12–24 hours before the tour: 50% refund
- Cancellations made less than 12 hours before the tour, and no-shows: no refund
- Rescheduling: up to 12 hours before the scheduled time — call (646) 656-9717
- Weather-related cancellations by NYC Royal Carriage: full refund or free rescheduling
- Late arrival: more than 15 minutes late without contacting us forfeits the refund and rescheduling options
Group and private tour questions
How many carriages can I book at once?
One reservation can hold up to 10 carriages. The online booking form offers up to 5 for a regular tour; for anything larger, or for a date that needs coordinating, use the form on this page or call (646) 656-9717.
Do all the carriages leave at the same time?
Yes. Every carriage in one reservation shares the same date, the same departure time and the same route, so the group leaves the stand together and rides through Central Park as a procession. Each carriage has its own driver.
How many people fit in each carriage?
Up to 4 adults per carriage. With children 12 and under, a carriage can take 4 adults, 3 adults & up to 2 children, 2 adults & up to 4 children, 1 adult & up to 6 children. Five carriages therefore seat up to 20 adults, ten up to 40.
How is a group tour priced?

Is there a deadline for booking?
Any booking has to be made at least 30 minutes before departure, and we do not take walk-up bookings at the carriage stand. For a wedding or a corporate date, contact us as far ahead as you can so we can hold the carriages and the departure time.
