Royal Park & City Grand Tour
125-Minute Evening Ride — Park and Avenue • Up to 4 adults • 125 minutes • Family-owned since 1999
About this tour
Half park and half city, in one 125-minute evening. The Royal Park & City Grand Tour begins inside Central Park while there is still something to look at — its first departure is 7:30 PM, a full hour before our Royal Manhattan Evening Tour sets off — works through The Mall, Bethesda Terrace, the Lake and Bow Bridge, then leaves by the Plaza Hotel and finishes among the lights of Fifth Avenue.
The park half is unhurried: Wollman Rink, The Mall, a pause at Bethesda Terrace, then along the Lake to Bow Bridge for a second pause and out across Sheep Meadow. The carriage exits beside the Plaza Hotel and turns down Fifth Avenue, and from there the ride belongs to the city — Saint Patrick's Cathedral, then the Rockefeller Center plaza and rink, then Radio City Music Hall, before the return to the stand at 7th Avenue and Central Park South. Because it sets off earlier than our other evening rides, the park section can still catch the last of the light on a long summer evening while the avenue section is always dark. Like every regular tour it runs January 10 through November 20; from November 21 to January 9 regular tours pause and our Christmas tours take their place.

Who this tour is for
Visitors with one evening in New York who refuse to choose between the park and the skyline, couples marking an anniversary, and anyone who found a 55- or 65-minute ride too short the last time. It is not the right booking if you want to see the park in daylight, if 7:30 PM is already past bedtime for the children travelling with you, or if the avenue alone is what you want — the Royal Midtown Lights Tour does that in under an hour for less.
Frequently asked questions
How early can this tour depart?
From 7:30 PM, the earliest start of any of our evening rides. That hour is what makes the Central Park half of the route worth doing in summer.
How is it different from the Royal Manhattan Evening Tour?
Same length, same price. This one sets off an hour earlier, spends its park time on the Lake and Sheep Meadow, and does not include Strawberry Fields or Saint Thomas Church.
Can we skip the city half and stay in the park?
Not on this route — the exit at the Plaza Hotel is fixed. If you want two full hours inside Central Park, book the Central Park Royal Grand Tour instead.
