About this tour

The Proposal Tour is a 65-minute private Central Park ride built around a single minute. You choose where that minute happens at the moment you book — Bethesda Terrace Arcade, Wagner Cove or Bow Bridge — and your driver plans the route so the carriage arrives there and stops. Every other decision about the ride is arranged behind that one.

The route threads the park's most photographed romantic corners: the Minton-tile arcade under Bethesda Terrace, the wooden gazebo at Wagner Cove on the Lake, Bethesda Fountain, Cherry Hill Fountain and the cast-iron span of Bow Bridge — and it pauses at the one you named. Optional extras are chosen at checkout and paid together with the tour: a hidden photographer, a hidden videographer, start-to-finish photo and video coverage, or the Flowers, Chocolate and Champagne package. Photo and video add-ons need 24 hours' notice, so book them with the ride rather than asking on the day. If the whole thing is a surprise, say so in the booking notes — the timing, the meeting point and any hidden photographer are coordinated discreetly. The tour runs January 10 through November 20; from November 21 to January 9 it pauses along with our other regular tours.

Pricing

$224.99 for the private carriage. Up to 4 adults can ride; with children 12 and under it becomes 3 adults and 2 children, 2 adults and 4 children, or 1 adult and 6 children. The add-ons — photography, video, flowers, chocolate, champagne — are priced separately at checkout and every one of them is optional.

Who this tour is for

Anyone proposing in Central Park who wants the location settled in advance rather than left to a driver's judgement on the day, and who would like the option of a photographer already waiting. It is not a sightseeing tour: 65 minutes with a planned stop covers less ground than our 125-minute Grand tours, and the narration takes second place to the reason you are there. If seeing the whole park matters more than the stop, book a Grand tour instead.
